June 19, 2011. Swing Shift appeared at the San Diego County Fair A Cappella Sing-Off. We had a lot of fun putting together 5-part versions of 3 or our songs for the show: "Blackbird," "When I Fall In Love," and "Jeepers Creepers." In spite of an erratic sound system, it was a good show, and the winning group, Simply Put, was terrific.
June 22, 2011. Swing Shift enthusiastically welcomed Suzanne Waters to our roster. She's a wonderfully talented singer who will be sharing the soprano space with Holly. We couldn't be more excited about her joining us. We have a new, rich upper register sound now that you'll all be excited to hear. Check her out on our Roster page.
July 18, 2011. We received the news that our tenor, Joel Dalton, is leaviing Swing Shift. His recent move to Orange County has made the commute way too much, with which we all sympathize. He will be pursuing his many musical interests, and he will be ready to sub for us should we need him. We will miss him and his beautiful and engaging tenor voice.
January 14, 2012. Swing Shift is delighted to announce the addition of Dakota Lee Martinez to the group roster. After a long a careful search and listening to some very talented singers, we are pleased to announce that Dakota has accepted our invitation to join Swing Shift. He has a broad musical background - check out his bio - and his amazing vocal range and talent will fill out the group's middle register in a fresh and exciting way.
